Rob Leatham is a world champion shooter. By some accounts he was won more championships than any shooter in history, including 6 International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC) World Championships and more than 20 United States Practical Shooting Association (USPSA) national championships. He shoots faster than the average person can imagine.
From the perspective of the average guy who pays $10 to $20 for a box of 50 rounds of ammo to shoot — or spends hour after hour reloading to save money — he is living the shooter’s dream. He not only doesn’t pay for his guns and ammo, he gets paid for it.
He is also a very friendly guy. We had a chance to meet him briefly at the Phoenix Rod and Gun Club. He was practicing for a competition and stopped by the MAG-40 class we were in.
His shooting advice was simple:
1. Shoot as fast as you can while keeping your front sight on the target.
2. Grip the gun with 100% pressure in both hands.
